NSDC, LinkedIn partner to impart free digital skills trainingOn September 08, 2020 National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and LinkedIn announced a partnership to provide access to free learning resources for imparting digital skills to youth for enhancing employability.

According to LinkedIn, Indian professionals with digital skills are 20 percent more in demand than professionals without digital skills in 2020.

Key Points:

i.Under the partnership, 10 free LinkedIn learning paths, consisting of 140 courses for a range of in-demand tech jobs will be made available for free on eSkill India digital platform till March 31, 2021. It will help India’s youth to develop skills needed for jobs.

ii.LinkedIn will provide insights on the Labour market based on an economic graph of more than 69 million members in India. 

iii.It will also share in-demand skills, emerging jobs, and global hiring rates with NSDC to better understand the skilling ecosystem.

iv.The Learning path will include video content to help job-seekers develop core digital skills. It will cover a range of skills from entry-level digital literacy to advanced product-based skills.

v.LinkedIn will provide free, three additional soft skills learning paths on the eskill India portal.

LinkedIn & NSDC:

i.NSDC was established in 2010 and has trained more than 2.5 crore people through partnership with 600 training partners with 11,000 training centres spread over 600 districts across the country. 

ii.LinkedIn is a professional networking site and has more than 67.5 crore members.
