On 19th August 2020, The National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) under the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) and the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research- National Aerospace Laboratories (CSIR-NAL), partnered to establish an innovation cum incubation center to promote the startup in the field of aerospace technologies.
The agreement was signed by Dr. H. Purushotham, Chief Managing Director, NRDC and Dr. Jitendra J. Jadhav, Director, CSIR-NAL at the CSIR Headquarters, New Delhi.
Dr. Shekhar C Mande, Secretary of DSIR and Director General of CSIR, R Vaidheeswaran, Joint Secretary, DSIR and other senior officials of CSIR and NAL witnessed the signing of the agreement.
i.The centre would incubate and mentor the startups in the field of aerospace engineering.
ii.Under this program support for products and prototype development and validation will be provided for the startups.
i.The centre will be established with external private funding.
ii.The partnership between NRDC and CSIR-NAL will create employment opportunities in India.
iii.This incubation centre will support the establishment of innovation cum incubation centers at other CSIR laboratories in different areas.
