On 21st June 2021, the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Ltd.(NHSRCL) collaborated with Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) to formulate World’s 1st Green Rating System for High-Speed Rails (HSR). Under this collaboration, MAHSR (Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail) corridor, which is currently under the control of NHSRC will be included for the Green HSR Rating program of IGBC.
Objective – IGBC will frame Green HSR Rating for railway stations that provides Environmental sustainability feature to improve commuter experiences
i.NHSRCL is a special purpose vehicle that executes India’s 1st Bullet train project between Ahmedabad and Mumbai.
iiGreen HSR Rating, will be issued for implementing Green Buildings, with eco-friendly features like Solar power stations, Rain water harvesting, Energy-efficient construction techniques etc.
iii.Railway stations in the MAHSR corridor were constructed by NHSRCL using futuristic green construction techniques
