Narinder Batra's Term As FIH PresidentOn May 8, 2020 The International Hockey Federation(FIH) announced that it has extended the terms of its president Narinder Dhruv Batra & the Executive Board(EB) members which is due to end in October 2020 has been extended until the 47th FIH Congress(initially planned on 28th October- 1st November 2020 in New Delhi) in May 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Key Points

i.The subsequent terms for the positions will be shortened accordingly(mid-2021 to 2024) on an exceptional basis.

ii.The decision made is based on Article 12.1 of the FIH Statutes, which covers cases of force majeure.

iii.The FIH has pre-informed 137 National Associations in April about change of dates for the Congress.

iv.EB members who got extensions are:  Women-  Danae Andrada(Uruguay), Hazel Kennedy (Zambia), Men- Erik Cornelissen (Netherlands) and Tayyab Ikram ( Macao)
