Mufti Mohammed Sayeed of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) sworn in as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir for the second time. The PDP has collaborated with Bharatiya Janata Party to form a new coalition government and ended the 49 days of Governor’s rule in the state.
Nirmal Singh of BJP, sworn in as the new Deputy Chief Minister of the state. Totally thirteen MLAs including Sayeed from the PDP and Twelve MLAs from BJP and Peoples Conference combine were sworn-in as ministers.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, L K Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Party Secretary Amit Shah and General Secretary Ram Madhav.
