On 26th September 2020, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister(CM) of Madhya Pradesh(MP) launched the “Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojna” in line with the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) Scheme of the central government.
Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojna:
i.Under this scheme annually Rs.4000 will be transferred to the accounts of around 175000 farmers of MP in two equal installments in addition to the Rs.6000 annually transferred to the farmers under the PM-Kisan Scheme.
ii.This will enable the farmers of MP to get samman nidhi of Rs.10000 per year.
Other Initiatives:
i.He performed the bhoomi pooja for the Narmada Irrigation Project worth Rs.2400 crore in Sanwar, Indore.
ii.The MP government has transferred Rs.40.52 crore to the accounts of more than 16000 students (Rs.25000 per student) to buy laptops.
iii.Under the Talented Students Promotion Scheme launched in 2009, around Rs.101 crore will be given to the more than 40000 students who scored more than 85% marks in the Class 12 examinations.
