The Central Government appreciated that Madhya Pradesh (MP) has become the first state in the country to provide a mid-day meal ration. Manoj Shrivastava, Additional Chief Secretary Panchayat and Rural Development, informed that this information has been given in the review meeting conducted by the Central Government.Key Points:
i.Amidst Corona crisis, an amount of Rs. 117 crore has been transferred online by the state government in the bank accounts of the parents of total 66 lakh 27 thousand students of primary and secondary school.
ii.In addition, under door-to-door mid-day meal scheme, ration has also been provided to 56 lakh 87 thousand children.
iii.The Additional Secretary also informed that the amount of food security allowance was transferred through NIC (National Informatics Centre) on March 29, 2020 by the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the bank accounts of children’s parents. This amount has been received by all the parents.
iv.Distribution of door to door mid-day meal ration: Manoj Shrivastava also added that since the schools were closed in the month of April 2020, with the help of Anganwadi workers, representatives of Panchayats and local teachers mid-day meal ration were delivered at the doorsteps of the children.
v.Recently, the MP Chief Minister has launched ‘Jeevan Amrit Yojana’ scheme to boost the immune system of people to fight COVID-19 disease and ‘Chief Minister COVID-19 Yoddha Kalyan Yojana’ to benefit the Anganwadi workers and Assistants of the Madhya Pradesh, under the scheme the state government provides special health insurance of Rs 50 lakhs.
