On July 16, 2021, Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, and Tribal Affairs Minister, Arjun Munda, jointly launched a training program for school teachers named ‘School Innovation Ambassador Training Program’ (SIATP).
- The program is formed by the Ministry of Education’s(MoE) Innovation Cell, Ministry of Tribal Affairs(MoTA), CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education), and AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education).
- Under the training module of SIATP, 50,000 school teachers will be trained online in the field of Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Intellectual property rights (IPR), Idea generation, etc.
- The SIATP will also benefit the children of Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS).
- EMRS was the programme developed for tribal children, the tribal affairs ministry plans to establish 740 EMRS in tribal areas over the next 3 years.

According to the Performance Grading Index (PGI) 2019-20 for States & UTs released by the Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL), MoE, the states of Punjab, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, Andaman & Nicobar Islands (A&N Islands) and Kerala occupied the highest grade (Grade I ++) for 2019-20 (i.e Scores are between 901-950).
