The Prime Minister addressed the people of India over his his ‘Mann Ki Baat‘ via a national address on the All Indian Radio. He addressed the people on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami.
This is Modi’s first national address on the radio. AIR will repeat the address on Friday evening, the speech being translated in regional languages to be aired on its regional channels.
The Prime Minister said that he will speak to people once or twice a month on AIR on Sunday at 11 a.m.
He urged the purchase and use of ‘Khadi’. He reminded people of the “Clean India Mission” that was launched on October 2 and urged people to join the mission of making India a clean nation.
He quoted Swami Vivekananda’s story about the lion cub brought up by a sheep who later discovered his strengths when he came in contact with another lion. He said that as a 125 crore strong nation, we all have skills and only need to recognize these skills. He emphasized on taking the initiative, integrating our individual strengths and unite to achieve goals.
He encouraged people to keep writing to him and share their thoughts on the website www.mygov.in. He emphasized that India belongs to each Indian citizen and this sense of belonging should bring people together and become a part of the development. He said ,” if everyone takes a step forward then India will take 125 crore steps”.
