On 12th February 2021, the Ministry of tribal Affairs won the Award of Appreciation under Project Category Award in the 18th Computer Society of India (CSI) Special Interest Group on e-Governance(SIGe-Gov) Awards 2020 for its Performance Dashboard Empowering Tribals Transforming India through various ICT initiatives.
Dr. Navaljit Kapoor, joint secretary of the Ministry of tribal affairs received the honours from Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh(UP) at the event organised in Lucknow.
About the Performance Dashboard:
i.The performance dashboard of the Ministry of tribal affairs is an online platform that provides updated and real time details about 11 schemes or initiatives of the ministry for achieving the sustainable development goals.
ii.The dashboard also monitors the performance of various schemes of the ministry, States and 41 ministries and ensures that the welfare funds of the Schedule Tribe(ST) are utilised┬а properly.
CSI SIG EGovernance Awards:
i.CSI SIG EGovernance Awards is a series of awards instituted by the Computer Society of India (CSI) to recognise the contributions towards e-governance by the State, Departments, Districts and Project level.
ii.The awards were conducted by CSI-SIGegov.
Award of Excellence under Project category Award:
Uttarakhand:
i.The Gopan Department, Govt of Uttarakhand and the National Informatics Centre, Uttarakhand State Unit won the award of Excellence for the initiating the e-Cabinet (e-Mantrimandal), an initiative in the field of e-governance.
ii.Uttarakhand became the first state to start an e-cabinet in India.
Odisha:
Housing and Urban Development Department, Government of Odisha and the National Informatics Centre, Odisha State Unit, won the award of excellence for Smart Water Management System under тАЬSujalтАЭ Drink From Tap Mission in Puri.
