RSS leader Manohar Lal Khattar has been selected as the Chief Minister of Haryana. He is a bachelor and first time MLA and he is well known for his organizational skills. He represents Karnal constituency in Haryana Legislative Assembly. He has worked as a Pracharak in RSS for almost fourteen years.
Manohar Lal Khattar is going to be the first Chief Minister of Haryana from the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Four major parties contested the election.
- The Indian National Congress (INC)
- The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD)
- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)
- The Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC)
Out of 90 seats, BJP won a majority with 47 seats. With BJP’s alliance partner Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), which won 1 seat, the NDA alliance of BJP and SAD won 48 seats.
