Malaysia’s Nicol David sets new World record in Squash

Datuk Nicol David of Malaysia has created a new world record in Squash. She topped the world rankings as world number one for straight 106 months. She became World Number One in January 2006. The previous record was 105-month record by New Zeland’s Susan Devoy.

Nicol has earned a total of 3,446 points while Egyptian Raneem El Welily was world number two with 2,580 points and England’s Laura Massaro is in third place with 2,145 points.

Nicole David has won the World Open title for Eight times. 

Some of the famous Indian Squash players are Saurav Ghosal, Joshna Chinappa, Dipika Pallikal, and Siddharth Suchde. 

Dipika Pallikal is the first Indian woman to break into the top 10 in the  Women’s Squash World Ranking. 

In the 20th Commonwealth Games held in 2014, Dipika, along with Joshna Chinappa won gold in the squash women’s doubles event. 

World Squash Federation (WSF) is the highest Governing Body and Narayanan Ramachandran is the current President of WSF.
