ABOUT MALABAR EXERCISE
Annual Malabar series was established in 1992 between India and US and since 2007 India has hosted the exercise. Malabar 2009, 2011, and 2014 took place off the coast of Japan and included the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Forces. This year also India invited Japan to be a part of exercise.
