Union Rural Development Secretary LC Goyal has been appointed as the new Home Secretary of India, following the resignation of Anil Goswami. Goyal was a 1979-batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre and served in the home ministry as joint secretary (Internal Security).
The Government has asked Anil Goswami to resign from the home secretary post, as he was allegedly involved in an attempt to stall the arrest of Saradha scam accused former Congress Minister Matang Sinh.
