On July 5, 2021, Minister of State (Independent Charge)-Additional Charge Kiran Rijiju, Ministry of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa and Homoeopathy) launched five important portals of importance along with four publications during a virtual event. He launched CTRI portal along with AMAR, RMIS, SAHI and e-Medha portals.
- The minister also released four publications related to the Traditional Indian Medicine System of India.
About Portals:
i.CTRI: CTRI, an acronym for Clinical Trials Registry India, is a primary Register of Clinical Trials under the world health Organization’s International Clinical Trials Registry Platform. The CTRI portal will facilitate the usage of Ayurveda Terminologies to record clinical study based on Ayurveda interventions and will result in worldwide visibility in Ayurveda Clinical Trials.
ii.SHAHI: An acronym for Showcase of Ayurveda Historical Imprints, this portal incorporates authentic resources and showcases inscriptions, Archeo-botanical Information, Sculptures, Philological sources and advanced Archeo Genetic studies. This portal provides a thorough understanding of Indian Knowledge system with a focus on indigenous health care practices.
iii.e- Medha: This electronic Medical Heritage Accession portal provides online access to more than 12 thousand books related to Indian Medical Heritage and can be accessed through NIC’s (National Informatics Centre) e- granthalaya platform.
iv.AMAR: An acronym for Ayush Manuscripts Advanced Repository, it is a repository for Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Sowa- Rigpa Manuscripts and catalogues.
v.CCRAS-Research Management Information System– A collaborative effort of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), this portal will be a one stop solution for Research and Development in Ayurveda based studies. It will also provide free of cost research guidance by experienced Scientists, Clinicians of Ayurveda.
The four publications released by the Ministry of Ayush are as follows:
i.Proceedings of International workshop on” Preservation and Promotion of SOWA-RIGPA in Asia
ii.Compendium of Important Cereals mentioned in Ayurveda-Series-1, volume-1
iii.Ayurveda Sangraha: An important classical textbook of Ayurveda which is mentioned in the Schedule 1 of Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940.
iv.PathapathyaVinishcaya: An important book of Ayurveda and has details of diet and lifestyle.

i.On 7th April 2021, the National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB) of the Ministry of AYUSH signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying for formulating new drugs using medicinal herbs for the use of veterinary science.
