India Skills Report 2024, Kerala is the most preferred state for employment in IndiaAccording to the 11th edition of the India skills Report (ISR) titled ‘India Skills Report 2024: Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Skills, Work, Mobility’ released on 20th December 2023, Kerala have emerged as the most preferred State to work for both male and female employable talent.

Note: The Indian Artificial Intelligence (AI) industry is projected to reach USD 28.8 billion by 2025, with a notable Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 45%.

Highlights:

i.Overall employability in India has increased to 51.25% among surveyed youth with the necessary skills.

ii.In terms of large talent availability, States with the highest concentration of highly employable youth are Haryana, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh (AP), Uttar Pradesh (UP), Kerala, and Telangana.

  • Haryana has the highest employable youth concentration at 76.47%, scoring 60% and above on the WNET.

iii.The age group of 22-25 years exhibits the highest employability, with 63.58% highly employable test takers in the top 10 cities.

iv.UP has the highest talent concentration in the 22-25 age group, with 74.77%, followed by Maharashtra with 71.97%.

v.Telangana has the highest concentration of employable talent in the age group of 18-21 with 85.45% followed by Kerala with 74.93%.

vi.Gujarat boasts the highest employable resources in the 26-29 age group, with 78.24%.

vii.Pune (80.82% ) ranked 1st among the cities with employable talent in the age group of 18-21, followed by Bengaluru (72.18%) and Thiruvananthapuram (67.22%).

x.Haryana leads in highly employable females for the workforce at 49.58%, followed by Andhra Pradesh at 39.96%.

The report has been prepared by Wheebox, a talent assessment agency, in association with All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) as Institutional Partner, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) as India Partner, Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as Research Partner, Google as Technology Partner, Taggd as Knowledge Partner, and Additional Skill Acquisition Program (ASAP) Kerala, and The Gujarat Skill Development Ecosystem as State Partner.

Theme: Impact of AI on the Future of Work, Skilling, and Mobility

Assessment: The report surveyed 3.88 lakh youths through Wheebox National Employability Test (WNET) across India.

  • It also provided insights from 152 corporations spanning over 15 diverse industries, all of whom participated in the Early Career Edition of the India Hiring Intent Survey for 2024
