On 2nd March, 2021, Jammu & Kashmir retained the top spot in the 2nd Edition of Khelo India Winter Games, which was held at Gulmarg, J&K. With 11 Gold, 18 Silver and 5 Bronze Medals J&K led the medal tally during the closing ceremony of the Khelo India Winter Games in Ski Resort of Gulmarg.
Top 3 position:
1.Jammu & Kashmir won 11 Gold, 18 Silver and 5 Bronze Medals.
2.Karnataka won 5 Gold, 4 Bronze Medals.
3.Maharashtra won 3 Gold, 3 Silver & 2 Bronze Medals.
Highlights of the Event:
i.Jammu & Kashmir retained the top spot for the second consecutive time.
ii.The event saw the participation of over 1200 athletes from 27 states & Union Territories of India.
iii.Following the success of the event, Principal Secretary Youth Services and Sports, Alok Kumar retained the venue for 3rd edition of Khelo India Winter Games at Gulmarg, J&K.
iv.Both the 1st & 2nd edition is held at Gulmarg, J&K.
v.The event was organized by J&K Sports Council & Winter Games Association of J&K.

i.On January 21, 2021, Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Youth Affairs and Sports inaugurated the 1st ever Khelo India Zanskar Winter Sports & Youth Festival 2021 at Padum in Zanskar of Kargil, Ladakh UT.
ii.Kiren Rijiju and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced that Haryana will host the 4th edition of Khelo India Youth Games(KIYG) in 2021. The Games will be held in Panchkula in Haryana.
