The 2025 Italian Open Tennis, officially called the Internazionali BNL d’Italia 2025, took place from May 6 to May 18, 2025, on outdoor clay courts at the Foro Italico in Rome, Italy.

  • In Men’s singles, Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz (World No.2) secured his maiden Italian Open title by defeating Italy’s Jannik Sinner (World No.1) with a scoreline of 7–6(7–5), 6–1 in the final.
  • Italy’s Jasmine Paolini (World No. 5) achieved a historic feat by winning both the women’s singles and doubles titles at the 2025 Italian Open.

About Italian Open Tennis 2025:

The 82nd edition of the Italian Open was held as an Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) 1000 event on the 2025 ATP Tour and as a Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) 1000 event on the 2025 WTA Tour.

  • The ATP Masters 1000 event has announced a prize money total of  Euro 8,055,385 for the 2025 edition. The singles champion will earn Euro 985,030. The doubles team that wins will split Euro 400,560.

Carlos Alcaraz won Men’s Singles Title:

i.This victory marks Carlos Alcaraz’s seventh ATP Masters 1000 title and his 19th career title.

ii.With this win, he became the third male player after Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic to clinch all three clay-court Masters 1000 titles (Monte Carlo, Madrid, and Rome).

Jasmine Paolini won Women’s Singles and Doubles Title:

Singles Final: Paolini defeated Coco Gauff (United States of America, USA) with a score of 6–4, 6–2, becoming the first Italian woman to win the singles title since Raffaella Reggi in 1985.

Doubles Final:  Paolini partnered Sara Errani (Italy) to win the doubles title against Veronika Kudermetova (Russia) and Elise Mertens (Belgium) (6–4, 7–5).

  • This victory made Paolini the first woman since Monica Seles in 1990 to win both singles and doubles titles at the Italian Open in the same year.
  • With this Paolini ascended to World No. 4 in the PIF WTA Rankings, surpassing Iga Świątek (Poland), a four-time French Open champion

Marcelo Arévalo & Mate Pavić won Men’s Doubles Title:

i.Marcelo Arévalo (EI Salvador) and Mate Pavić (Croatia) won the men’s doubles tennis title at the 2025 Italian Open by defeating the French pair Sadio Doumbia and Fabien Reboul with a score of 6–4, 6–7 (6–8), [13–11] in the final.

ii.The victory marked their second Masters 1000 title of 2025, following their win at the Monte Carlo Masters 2025.
