ISSF World Cup Munich 2025: India Secures Third Place with 4 Medals

The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) organized the Munich leg of the ISSF Rifle/Pistol and Shotgun (RPSH) World Cup 2025 in Munich, Germany, from 8th to 15th June 2025, featuring the participation of 334 athletes representing 49 countries.

  • India secured the third position in the overall medal tally with 4 medals (2 Gold and 2 Bronze), finishing behind China (7 medals) and Norway (4 medals).

About ISSF World Cup 2025:

i.The ISSF World Cup is an annual series of competitions organized by ISSF.

ii.In the first leg held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, India finished second with 8 medals behind China.

iii.In the second leg held in Lima, Peru, India finished third with 7 medals, behind China and the United States of America (USA).

Note: The next leg of the World Cup will be held in Ningbo, China, from 7th to 15th September 2025.

Prize Money:

Each medal winner at the ISSF WCF 2025 is awarded the following prize money:

  • Gold Medal (1st Place): 5,000 Euro
  • Silver Medal (2nd Place): 4,000 Euro
  • Bronze Medal (3rd Place): 2,000 Euro

Note: Shooters from Russia and Belarus participated under the AIN (Individual Neutral Athletes) designation due to the ISSF’s ban on their national federations, following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and Belarus’ support for the action.

Highlights of Indian Medal Winners:

i.Suruchi Singh Inder won gold in Women’s 10 meter (m) Air Pistol, defeating Camille Jedrzejewski (France).

  • This marked her third consecutive World Cup gold in 2025, following victories in Buenos Aires and Lima.

ii.Arya Borse and Arjun Babuta clinched gold in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team, defeating China’s Olympic champions Wang Zifei and Sheng Lihao with a score of 17–7 in the final.

iii.Elavenil Valarivan won bronze in Women’s 10m Air Rifle, setting a National Record of 635.9 in qualifications. She finished behind China’s Wang Zifei (world record: 637.9)

iv.Sift Kaur Samra won bronze in Women’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions, adding to India’s medal tally.
