IREDA bags “Green Urja Award”Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) under the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) won the Green Urja Award 2021 for its developmental role towards the Green Energy Financing. IREDA won the award for being the Leading Public Institution in Financing Institution for Renewable Energy.

  • The award was conferred by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC). 
  • Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), IREDA received the award from Dr. Ajay Mathur, Director General, International Solar Alliance(ISA).

Anil Razdan, Chairman of ICC National Expert Committee on Energy was also present during the virtual ceremony.

About Green Urja Award:

The award recognises the contribution of the organization towards the development of the Renewable Energy Sector in line with the Atma Nirbhar Bharat

Highlights of IREDA:

i.IREDA is the only dedicated institution for financing Renewable Energy (RE) & Energy Efficiency (EE) projects in India.

ii.IREDA has sanctioned loans of total value Rs. 96,601 crores, disbursed Rs. 63,492 crores and supported more than 17,586 MW of RE capacity in India.

iii.In 2020-2021, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, IREDA has disbursed the 2nd highest amount of loan amounting to Rs 8827 crores.

The SKOCH Challenger Award-Best Performance in e-Governance was presented to Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA). The ministry got the SKOCH Challenger Award for the 2nd consecutive year. It was received by Union Minister Arjun Munda, (MoTA).
