IRCTC introduces Cash on Delivery for Train Tickets

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation has initiated cash on delivery (CoD) system for rail ticketing. Now passengers can book train tickets online and it will be delivered to the booker’s home. The CoD scheme has launched on pilot basis the service will be available in more than 200 cities. Passengers can book a rail ticket 5 days prior to commencement of journey.

For each Sleeper Class ticket, IRCTC charges extra forty rupees and each AC class ticket, the charge is sixty rupees. Anduril Technologies via their website and their mobile application – BookMyTrain.com is authorised for providing CoD services.

  • More than 30 crore tickets are being booked via IRCTC every year.
