International Micro, Small and Medium-sized (MSME) Enterprises Day 2019 was observed on June 27. It aims to recognize the importance of Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in achieving sustainable development goals, promoting innovation, creativity and sustainable work for all.Key Points:
i. United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) through resolution A/RES/71/279 had adopted this date since 2017 for its celebrations.
ii. International Trade Center, the United Nations launched its flagship report: “The SME Competitiveness Outlook 2019: Big money for small businesses”.
International MSME Day 2019 in India
The Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises organized an international convention on the theme “Indian MSMEs, Global Aspirations” in New Delhi. It was inaugurated by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for MSME and Road Transport & Highways at Hotel Eros in the presence of Shri Pratap Sarangi, MoS for MSME and Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries.
i. As a part of the celebrations,The Second Edition of the International SME Convention 2019 will be held from 28 – 29 June 2019.
ii. 175 participants from 44 countries and ambassadors from 15 European, African and Latin American countries will attend the SME (Small and medium-sized enterprises) convention.
