On November 11 2019, The Ministry of Defence (MoD) organized ‘Def-Connect’ to showcase the achievements of the Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) initiative and create a strong outreach towards the future entrepreneurs of the defence sector. The aim of this conference is to connect all stakeholders of iDEX ecosystem to showcase the countries growth towards defence sector. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was the Chief Guest of the event.
Key Points: –
i.Launch of iDEX Portal, launch of Defence India Startup Challenge (DISC)-III – These two launches are some of the major activities of the event. The Panel discussions with eminent personalities in the field of innovation in defence sector are also being held.
ii.Stakeholders– iDEX ecosystem, Ministry of defence, iDEX selected startups, Partner Incubators, Defence Innovation Organization (DIO), Nodal agencies (Indian Army, Navy, Air force), Defence Research (DR) and Development Organization (DO) and Defence Public Sector (DPS) Undertakings and Indian Ordnance Factories (IOF) are the stakeholders.
iii.Participants- Over 350 startups and innovators working on various defence technologies are participated in the event.
iv.This year’s event is a predecessor Startup showcase, for the fore-coming DefExpo 2020 held on Uttar Pradesh capital of Lucknow in February 5-8 2020.
