NIRAMAI Health AnalytixPvt. Ltd.(NIRAMAI) and InnAccel Technologies Pvt. Ltd.(InnAccel), startups supported by the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council(BIRAC), under the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), have received the World Bank Group(WBG), International Finance Corporation(IFC) and the Consumer Technology Association(CTA)’s Global Women’s Health Tech Awards 2022.
- The winners were announced at the Consumer Electronics Show(CES) 2022, held in Las Vegas, United States(US). It is the most influential tech event in the world, owned and produced by the CTA.
About Global Women’s Health Tech Awards:
World Bank Group in partnership with The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) launched the Global Women’s Health Tech Awards in August 2021.
The award recognises the innovative startups that leverage technology to improve women’s health and safety in emerging markets.
Tech innovators were invited to apply for the awards under three categories: Reproductive health and pregnancy, General women’s and adolescent health, and Women safety and security.

i.NIRAMAI Health AnalytixPvt. Ltd.(NIRAMAI) has received the award for its innovative software-based medical device that detects early-stage breast cancer in a simple and private way on women of all age groups and breast densities.
ii.This is a low cost, accurate, automated, portable, contactless, radiation-free, and painless cancer screening tool with no known side effects.
iii.The Ministry of Science and Technology stated that Under the partnership between NIRAMAI and over 30 hospitals and diagnostic centres across India more than 45000 women have been screened.
iv.It is estimated that the product can save around 90000 lives every year in India.
InnAccel Technologies Pvt Ltd.(InnAccel):
i.InnAccel Technologies Pvt Ltd.(InnAccel) has won the award for Fetal Lite, a next-generation Artificial intelligence (AI) powered fetal heart rate monitor based on fetal ii.ECG signal extraction technology for mothers in labour or post 37 weeks of gestation.
Fetal Lite is accurate, reliable, and easier to use than conventional Doppler-based devices.
iii.The device can be used for both active and remote monitoring in ‘in-hospital’ and ‘in-home’ settings.
iv.The device can save around 1.2 million lives per year across the globe.
