Indian women-hockey team finishes 7th in Hawke’s Bay-Cup Hockey

The Indian Women’s hockey team trounced Japan to ear the 7th place at the Hawke’s Bay-cup Hockey tournament in New Zealand. The battle for the 7th place was held on Sunday. Indian won the match 3-2. India has won over Japan for the second-time in a row.

In 2014, India had beaten Japan in the 17th Asian-Games at Incheon in Korea. Ms. Rani scored the winning-goal for India, after Deepika scored the equalizer after the fourth-quarter of the game.

Australia won the final by beating New Zealand by 3-2. China beat Korea 3-2 to win the Bronze medal. U.S.A beat Argentina to finish 5th in the tournament. The standings at the end of the Tournament are
