Indian Shooters Topped The ISSF World Cup 2022 Cairo With The Total Of 7 Medals

ISSF World Cup, Cairo, Egypt

The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World cup 2022 ‘Rifle and pistol’ took place at Cairo, Egypt, from 26 february 2022 till 8 March 2022. Indian shooters have topped the medals tally with a total of 7 medals.

  • India Led the medal tally with 7 medals including 4 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze.Norway Secured the Second position and France secured the third.

i.A total of 66 participants have represented India for Individual, Team and Mixed team events.

ii.The ISSF is also the governing body of the Olympic Shooting events in Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun disciplines.

Gold Medal Winners of India:-
i.Indian team of Rahi Sarnobat, Esha Singh and Rhythm Sangwan won the gold medal in women’s 25m pistol against Singapore.
ii.Saurabh Chaudhary wins gold in men’s 10m air pistol event against Germany.

  • Note – At the age of 16, Saurabh Chaudhary secured India’s first gold medal in the men’s 10m air pistol event at 2018 Asian Games, Jakarta-Pelambeng, Indonesia.

iii.Esha Singh, Shri Nivetha Paramanantham and Ruchira Vinerkar won Gold medal in women’s 10m air pistol against Germany.
iv.Rhythm Sangwan and Anish Bhanwala won the gold medal in the 25m rapid fire pistol mixed team against Thailand.
