BHEL and Russian firm INTMA inked MOU to set up a gas-based power project in Kazakhstan. The understanding pact is aimed at utilizing the designing and development skill-sets of the Indian company, and the procurement capabilities of the Kazakhstan Company to construct high-tension power-stations.
The projects will be taken up in Russia and Kazakhstan regions.
This is a good opportunity for B.H.E.L to expand its presence in the Common-wealth of Independent-States. INTMA-Group has its presence even in Europe. Its contracting capabilities in Turn-Key projects can help B.H.E.L in gaining a firm foothold in this region also.
“”The two parties will endeavour to assist each other in the implementation of this MoU. For us, this is a great opportunity to expand our footprint in the CIS region,” BHEL Chairman and Managing Director BP Rao said.
- BHEL is currently executing 23 major projects in 16 countries and has a presence in more than 75 countries.
- INTMA is one of the leading general Engineering Procurement and Construction contractors (EPC) in Russia and Kazakhstan, with wide experience in industrial construction, renovation of facilities, automation and other energy related sectors, BHEL added.
