The Fire and Fury Corps of the Indian Army initiated theтАЬLadakh Ignited Minds Project: A Centre of Excellence and WellnessтАЭ in Ladakh, in association with the partner Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and executing agency National Integrity and Educational Development Organization (NIEDO), a Kanpur based NGO.
Objective:
To provide better training facilities to disadvantaged Ladakhi students and provide them with the opportunity to study in better educational institutes.
Features:
i.Under this initiative, the Fire and Fury Corps of the Indian Army will provide complete training for the youths in Ladakh with the support of HPCL and NIEDO.
ii.The first batch of the initiative with 20 girls and 45 students from the districts of Leh and Kargil will be trained for the JEE and NEET entrance examinations.
iii.The establishment of infrastructure and hiring of resource persons to teach the students will be completed within 15 days.
MoU:
On 26th April 2021, The Fire and Fury Corps on behalf of the Indian Army signed some Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) with the HPCL and NIEDO in Leh.
- The MoU was signed by Prince Singh, Chief Regional Manager(Jammu and Kashmir), HPCL and DrRohitSrivastav, CEO of NIEDO.
- The MoU was signed in the presence of 14 Corps GoC Lt. Gen PGK Menon, JamyangTseringNamgyal, Member of Parliament and UmangNarula, Advisor to the Union Territory of Ladakh.
