The III South Asian Football Federation Championship hosted in Islamabad was won by Indian Women’s team. The Indian team beat the Nepal team 6-0 and clinched the title.
Bala Devi scored four goals to take her tally to 16 — the highest in a single edition of the championship. Kamala Devi and Prameshwori Devi were the other goal scorers.
With this win, the Indian team has won all the three SAFF women finals against Nepal. These two teams played all the three finals of the championship since its inception in 2010.
All India Football Federation President Praful Patel and General Secretary Kushal Das congratulated the Indian women’s team in retaining the SAFF Championship.
