On 4th February, 2021 Indian Institute of Technology – Banaras Hindu University (IIT-BHU) signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) as a move to up-grade road construction in India, through scientific research.
Background:
– In November 2020, Ministry of Education requested all technical institutions in the country (including IITs & NITs) to provide technical supports to upgrade stretches of National Highways on voluntary basis.
– 18 IITs, 26 NITs & 190 other institutes have opted for the scheme.
