On 14th December, 2020 Technology giant International Business Machines (IBM) announced collaboration with Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) to offer free degree and polytechnic courses on emerging technologies to empower 30,000 students yearly through IBM’s free digital education platform “Open P-TECH” for a period of one year.
Highlights of Skill Development Program:
Aim- To empower students with emerging technological courses thus enhancing professional skillset for their future career.
Courses Offered- Cyber Security, Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning, Cloud computing, Internet of Things, Design Thinking.
Age Group- Focused on Students between 18 and 22 years.
i.Open P-TECH platform will provide 11 key skills that are not covered in college curriculum but has higher demand in Job Market.
ii.IBM also provides training to college teachers with an insight of using the platform to mentor students in learning these skills.
Open P-TECH:
Launched by IBM on March 2020 to provide knowledge on basics of Emerging Technologies in line with India’s SkillIndia Mission.
Provides free courses on cutting edge technology and professional skills to students.
