According to the Hurun India’s latest inaugural edition of the “2024 Hurun India under 35s”, Isha Ambani, non-Executive Director(ED) of Reliance Retail Limited; Parita Parekh, co-founder of Toddle, an online platform for educators; Ghazal Alagh, founder of Mamaearth are among the top young entrepreneurs featured on the list.
- The list is topped by Ankush Sachdeva (31 years old), Chief Executive Officer (CEO), ShareChat and Moj, India’s leading social media applications (app). He is also the youngest entrepreneur featured on the list.
- While, Neetish Sharda (31 years old), Smart works ranked at 2nd position on the list, followed by Akshit Jain, Director of Goldmedal Electricals Private Limited , India’s leading manufacturer company of electrical and electronic products, Chaitanya Rathi, co-founder of Bijnis, ranked at 3rd and 4th spot respectively.
About 2024 Hurun India under 35s:
i.It is the latest compilation which has featured 150 remarkable self-made entrepreneurs in India who are under the age of 35.
ii.The list has recognised those entrepreneurs which have minimum business valuation of USD 50 million for 1st-generation leaders and USD 100 million for next-generation leaders.
iii.As per the report, 82% (123) of the total entrepreneurs featured on the list are the 1st-generation leaders, with an average age of 33 years.
iv.The total entrepreneurs featured on the list are from 41 cities across the country, with Bengaluru (Karnataka) and Mumbai (Maharashtra) are the cities with highest number of entrepreneurs on the list, featuring 29 and 26 business leaders, respectively.
v.The list noted that highest number of young entrepreneurs are from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). The highest number of young entrepreneurs are from IIT Madras, Tamil Nadu (TN) (13 entrants) followed by IIT Bombay, Maharashtra (11) and both IIT Delhi, Delhi and IIT Kharagpur, West Bengal (WB) with 10 each.

i.Other noted names on the list are: Aakash Ambani (32nd ), Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL); Alakh Pandey, the founder ed-tech company Physics Wallah (23rd ); Roman Saini (38th ), founder of ed-tech company Unacademy, Vidit Aatrey (78th ), CEO of e-commerce company Meesho, among others.
ii.Rahul Raj, Flobiz secured the 6th spot among the top 10 entrepreneurs in India under the age of 35, followed by Rajan Bajaj (7th ), Slice; Raghav Gupta (8th ), Jakson Infra; Rishi Raj Rathore (9th ), Arzooo; and Hemesh Singh (10th ), Unacademy.
iii.According to the 2024 Hurun India under 35s list, Financial Services sector topped with 21 companies featured on the list, followed by Software & Services (14), Education & Training and Media & Entertainment sector shared the 3rd place on the list, featuring 12 companies each.
iv.Overall service providers companies dominated the list in terms of startups in India, accounting 59% while manufacturing companies comprise 41%.
Women Entrepreneurs in India:
i.There are 7 are young women entrepreneurs on the list, of which 4 are continuing their family business legacy such as Aneri Patel (33),Director of Ganesh Housing Corporation; Aneesha Tiwari (33), Director of USV Private Limited and Anjali Merchant (34), Director, Encore Healthcare Private Limited.
ii.According to the list, Parita Parekh (32 years old) and Isha Ambani (32 years old) are the youngest women entrepreneurs on the list.
iii.Ghazal Alagh aged 35 was acknowledged for her successful leadership of Mamaearth that has become publicly listed.
iv.While, Saloni Anand (34 years old) was also recognised for her innovative haircare solutions in India through her company, Traya Health Private Limited.
