Humanitarian Madhusudhan Sai Honoured with Fiji’s Highest Honour

Karnataka-based humanitarian Madhusudan Sai awarded Fiji’s highest honourOn 25th April 2025, Sri Madhusudhan Sai, an Indian spiritual and Humanitarian leader, was conferred the ‘Companion of the Order of Fiji’, the nation’s highest civilian award by Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, the President of Fiji at the State House of Fiji in Suva, Fiji.

  • He was awarded for his significant contributions to healthcare and social welfare in Fiji, through his Sri Satya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital, the first state-of-the-art, fully free Children’s Hospital in the South Pacific region focusing on treating the children irrespective of any background.
  • The previous recipients of the ‘Companion of the Order of Fiji’ include Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi in 2023 and President of India Draupadi Murmu in 2024.

About Sri Madhusudan Sai:

i.Sri Madhusudhan Sai was born in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh to a devotional family on July 26, 1979 and is a follower of Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

ii.His spirituality and service started in the year 2012, to expand his master’s work in the areas of education, healthcare, nutrition and social-welfare Programs.

Other contributions :

i.He founded ‘One World One Family’, global humanitarian mission, which works across more than 80 countries to improve access to healthcare, nutrition and education.

  • From operating the world’s largest free Paediatric cardiac hospital network to launching India’s completely free Medical college, his work focuses on serving underserved populations with compassion and without commercialization.

ii.Sai Prema Foundation, Fiji works for social welfare and humanitarian services across the nation, addressing issues like healthcare, disaster relief and food security.

  • Initiatives such as Medical camps and School nutrition Programs, educational scholarships and disaster relief by the foundation partnered with the Fijian government and communities to bridge critical gaps in public services.

About the Companion of the Order of Fiji:

i.The Companion of the Order of Fiji (CF) is the highest civilian honour bestowed by the Republic of Fiji.

ii.Established on 1 March 1995 under the Fiji Honours and Awards Act.

iii.This award recognizes individuals, both Fijian nationals and non-citizens, who have rendered eminent achievement and merit of the highest degree in service to Fiji or to humanity at large.
