Indian Menās Cricket team toured West Indies and United States of America for 2-Test matches, 3-One-Day Internationals(ODI) andĀ 5-Twenty 20 Internationals(T20I) against the West Indies cricket team from 12th July to 13th August 2023.
- Two T20I matches were played in Central Broward Regional Park Stadium, Lauderhill in Florida, United States of America(USA).
India Won theĀ Test series 1-0
i.India won the two-match Test series against West Indies 1-0 after the rain drew the second Test at the Queen Park Oval, Port of Spain in Trinidad.
- India won the first test by an innings and 141 runs held in Windsor Park, Roseau, Dominica.
ii.This was India’s ninth consecutive Test series win against the West Indies.
- India went unbeaten against the West Indies for the 25th consecutive match with a draw in the second Test .
- The last time, the West Indies won the test series against India in 2002 in the West Indies.
iii.India (Positioned 2nd) bagged 12 points in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 cycle from this test series.
India Won ODI series 2-1 against West Indies
i.India won the 1st ODI by 5 wickets against West Indies held on 27th July inthe Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.
ii.West Indies won the 2nd ODI by 6 wickets against India held on 29th July 2023 in the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.
iii.India won the 3rd ODI by 200 runs held on 1st August 2023 in Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad.

West Indies Won T20I series 3-2 against India
i.West Indies defeated India by 8 wickets in the 5th and final T20I held on 13th August in Lauderhill in Florida, United States of America(USA).
ii.India won by 9 wickets in the 4th T20I against West Indies held on 12th August 2023 in Lauderhill in Florida, United States of America(USA).
iii.India won theĀ 3rdĀ T20I by 7 wickets held on 8th August 2023 in Providence Stadium, Guyana
iv.West Indies won the 2nd T20I by 2 wickets held on 6th AugustĀ inĀ Providence Stadium, Guyana
v.West Indies won the 1st T20I by 4 runs held on 3rd August 2023 in Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad
- This loss marked the end of a six-year streak where India had not lost a T20I series to the West Indies, since 2017.

RavichandranĀ Ashwin becomes the 1st Indian bowler to dismiss father and son in Tests:
i.On 1st July 2023, Indian Off-spinner RavichandranĀ Ashwin achieved the feat of becoming the 1st Indian bowler to dismiss father and son in Tests when took the wicket of TagenarineĀ Chanderpaul, son of former great batter ShivnarineĀ Chanderpaul.
- He first dismissed ShivnarineĀ Chanderpaul in his test debut in 2011 in New Delhi.
iii.He was also the 5th bowler to dismiss a father-son duo in international cricket.
iv.The other four bowlers were Mitchell Starc(Australia), Ian Botham(England), WasimĀ Akram(Pakistan) andĀ Simon Harmer(South Africa).
RavichandranĀ Ashwin becomes 3rd Indian to secure 700 Wickets
Ashwin becomes 3rd Indian to secure 700 Wickets in the international matches after Anil Kumble (956) and Harbhajan Singh (711).
- He achieved this milestone when he took the wicket of Alzarri Joseph in the firstĀ test against West Indies.
ViratĀ Kohli surpassed Jacques Kallis to become the fifth-leading scorer in International cricket
ViratĀ Kohli surpassed South Africaās Jacques Kallis( 25,534 runs in 519 matches)to become the fifth-leading scorer in International cricket during the 2nd test match against West Indies.
- Kohli scored 25,548 runs in 500 matches across formats at an average of 53.67, with 75 centuries and 132 half-centuries.
- Virat Kohli became only the 10th cricketer to make 500 international appearances duringĀ second and final Test match against West Indies.
- Virat is only behind SachinĀ Tendulkar (34357 runs), Kumar Sangakkara (28016 runs), Ricky Ponting (27483 runs), and MahelaĀ Jayawardene (25957 runs).
India becomes theĀ fastest team to score 100 in test history:During the 2nd test match against West Indies, India reached 100 runs in 12.2 overs with the partnership betweenĀ Rohit Sharma and YashasviĀ Jaiswal, whichĀ is the fastest ever 100runs a team has ever taken in a test match.
- They beat Sri Lankaās 22 year old record (13.2 overs) set in 2001 against Bangladesh.
RavindraĀ Jadeja:
RavindraĀ JadejaĀ equals Courtney Walshās record to become Joint-Highest Wicket-Taker in India-West Indies ODIs.
- Ā Jadeja took 44 wickets in 30 matches,Ā while Courtney Walsh took 44 wickets in 38 matches.
Debutant Indian Player in this series:
i.Yashasvi JaiswalĀ made his international test debut for india against West Indies and also won the player of the match.
- He became the 17th Indian Test debutant to score a century in the test debut.
- He also made his T20I debut in the 3rd match against West Indies.
ii.Mukesh Kumar made his debut in all three formats including test, ODI, T20I in the West Indies tour.
- Bowler Mukesh Kumar from West Bengal becomes the 2nd Indian after T Natarajan to make international debut in all the three formats on the same tour.
iii.Tilak Varma made hisĀ international debut in the T20IĀ in the West Indies series.
- He played all 5 T20I matches.
iv.Ishan Kishan also made his test debut in the 1st test match against West Indies.
