Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare virtually inaugurated the Aarogya Dhara- 2.0 to increase the reach of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) programme to the poorest households of India and to create awareness about the scheme.
- He chaired the event – Aarogya Dhara- 2.0, to mark the completion of 2 crore treatments under AB-PMJAY.
- Treatments worth ~Rs 25000 crore have been provided to patients across 33 States/Union Territories (UTs), through the network of 23000 publics and private empaneled hospitals.
About Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY):
i.Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) was launched on 23rd September 2018 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Ranchi, Jharkhand.
ii.The scheme aims to ensure quality and affordable healthcare for the poor and underprivileged people.
iii.The scheme provides cashless and paperless healthcare service benefits of up to Rs 5 lakh per family per year.
Initiatives launched on the occasion:
i.Adhikar Patra – will be issued to the beneficiaries during the hospital admission for treatment under PM-JAY.
- This aims to create awareness about their rights and claim free and cashless healthcare services up to Rs 5 lakh.
ii.Abhinandan Patra– it is a thank you note which will be issued to the beneficiaries during their discharge.
iii.Ayushman Mitra– it is an initiative launched to provide an opportunity to all the citizens to contribute to the Ayushman Bharat by assisting the eligible people to get Ayushman Cards.
