The government of Jammu and Kashmir(J&K) hosted the first-ever ‘J&K Real Estate Summit- 2021-Unlocking Opportunities’ at the Convention Centre, Jammu, J&K.
Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, and Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) in the Prime Minister’s Office(PMO) and Lieutenant Governor J&K, Manoj Sinha attended and addressed the summit.
The summit is in line with the efforts to connect J&K to mainstream India.
- The summit was organized by the Department of Housing & Urban Development Department, Government of J&K in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs(MoHUA), Government of India.
Objective:
To provide an effective platform to showcase potential Real Estate investment opportunities and intensive discussion on the policy & regulatory framework.

Launches:
Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has E-launched the ‘Auction of Assets Portal’, Affordable Rental Housing Complexes Scheme at Sunjwan, Jammu, J&K RERA portal, Housing Schemes and J&K Housing Mission Portal during the summit.
J&K Government signed MoUs Worth ~Rs 18,300 crore at the Summit:
The government of Jammu and Kashmir(J&K) has signed as many as 39 Memorandums of Understanding(MoUs) worth ~Rs 18300 crores with the real estate organisations and a major fast-food chain during the 1st ever Real Estate Summit held in Jammu.
- The MoUs were signed with several companies which include Signature Global, Samyak Group, Raunak Group, Hiranandani constructions, Raheja Developers, Goel Ganga, GHP Group, Shree Naman Group, Chalet Hotels Limited, Tulip, Ajay Devgn’s Invoice Cinemas and NBCC.
Other MoUs signed during the Summit:
The National Real Estate Development Council(NAREDCO) National signed an MoU with NAREDCO J&K Chapter for real estate development.
NAREDCO and LEADs signed MoU for investment in the real estate sector.
NAREDCO has signed an MoU with the National Association of Realtors (NAR) for training, hand-holding and strengthening the real estate agent network in Jammu and Kashmir.
Jammu Kashmir Housing Board (JKHB) signed an MoU with the Central Government Employees Welfare Housing Organisation (CGEWHO), Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for the construction of residential accommodation for the Central Government employees.
Haldiram and JK Industry & Commerce Department signed an MoU to set up the manufacturing and sale units at Jammu, Katra, Sudh Mahadeva, Mansar, Surinsar, Patni Top and other tourism and pilgrimage hubs.
Housing and Urban Development Department(H&UDD) and NAREDCO are set to sign MoU for skilling under National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM) in the Union Territory.
