Eminent scientist Hanumanthu Purushotham has been appointed as the new Chairman and Managing Director of National Research Development Corporation (NRDC).
Previously Purushotham served as Head of Knowledge Management Centre of International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (ARCI), Department of Science and Technology at Hyderabad.

- The NRDC was established in India in 1953 to help develop and promote technologies developed at various national R&D institutions.
- NRDC has also successfully exported technologies and services to both developed as well as the developing countries.
- NRDC is recognised in the developing countries, as the source of reliable appropriate technology, machines and services, which are typically suitable for these countries.
