Ricky Kej, an Indian music composer and environmentalist based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, has his 3rd Grammy at the 65th annual Grammy Awards(Grammy 2023) under the Best Immersive Audio Album category for the album Divine Tides.
- He shared the award with rock legend Stewart Copeland, the drummer of the iconic British rock band, The Police.
- This is Copelands’s 5th Grammy and also marks the 2nd grammy shared with Rickey Kej as a collaborator.
Note:
Rickey Kej won his first Grammy Award in 2015 (shared with Wouter Kellerman) under the best new age album category for ‘Winds of Samsara’ and the 2nd Grammy in 2022 (shared with Stewart Copeland) under the Best New Age Album category for ‘Divine Tides’.

i.The 65th annual Grammy Awards(Grammy 2023) was held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, the United States of America(USA).
Grammy 2023 recognises the recordings released between 1st September 2021 and 30th September 2022.
ii.The Grammy Awards, presented by the Recording Academy or National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, since 1957 honour musical artists, compositions and albums.
Highlights:
i.Harry Styles won the 2023 Grammy – Album of the Year for “Harry’s House” and Lizzo won the Record of the year for “About Damn Time”.
- Harry Styles also won the Best Pop Vocal Album for Harry’s House and he also won as Mastering Engineer on “Harry’s House” for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical.
ii.Beyoncé won 4 awards at the 2023 Grammy which include, Best Dance Recording For “Break My Soul”; Best Dance/Electronica Album For “Renaissance”; Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance For “Plastic Off The Sofa” Best R&B Song For “Cuff It”.
With these 4 awards, Beyonce became the artist with the most Grammys ever with a total of 32 Grammys.

Lifetime Achievement Award is a Special Merit Award presented to artists who have made creative contributions of outstanding artistic significance to the field of recording.
- The recipients of the 2023 Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award are Bobby McFerrin, Nirvana, Ma Rainey, Nile Rodgers, Slick Rick “The Ruler,” The Supremes, and Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson of Heart.
Note:
Diana Ross of the Supreme becomes the first woman to receive the award twice, as part of a group in 2023 and as a solo artist in 2012.
Trustees Award is a Special Merit Award presented to individuals who, during their careers in music, have made significant contributions to the field of recording.
- The recipients of the 2023 Trustees Award are Henry Diltz, Ellis Marsalis and Jim Stewart.
Technical Grammy Award is presented to individuals and/or companies/organizations/institutions who have made contributions of outstanding technical significance to the recording field.
- The recipients of the 2023 Technical GRAMMY Award were the Audio Engineering Society (AES) and Dr Andy Hildebrand.
