Ravi Shankar Prasad, the Minister of Communications & IT, has presented the 2014 Web Ratna awards at a ceremony held at Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The objective of this award is to promote and uphold the use of World Wide Web (WWW) for enhancing the efficiency as well as the transparency of Government Mechanism and encouraging its speedy transition towards Digital India.
The awards were given for 6 categories, which include Citizen Centric Service, Open Data Champion, Outstanding Content, Innovative Use of Technology, Comprehensive Web Presence –Ministry and Comprehensive Web Presence‐ State/UT.
