President Pranab Mukherjee has approved conferring the Nation’s highest awards to 104 personalities. This year the awardees comprises of 9 Padma Vibhushan, 20 Padma Bhushan and 75 Padma Shri.
Senior BJP leader L K Advani, actors Amitabh Bachchan, Dilip Kumar and Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal will be awarded with Padma Vibhushan Award.
Microsoft founder Bill Gates and wife Melinda Gates will receive the Padma Bhushan, for their social work.
Professor Manjul Bhargava will be conferred with the Padma Bhushan for his contribution to the fields of science and engineering.
Cricketer Mithali Raj, badminton player PV Sindhu, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and lyricist Prasoon Joshi are among the recipients of the Padma Shri.

- Bharat Ratna is the highest civilian award in India. Till now 45 people have been conferred with this award.Â
- Padma Vibhusan is the Second highest civilian award in India.Â
- Padma Bhushan is the third highest civilian award in the Republic of India.
- Padma Shree is the Fourth highest civilian award in the Republic of India.
- These awards are awarded to the person to recognize their contribution in different fields. These awards are announced every year on Republic Day.Â
