On September 29, 2020 Flipkart and Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company partnered to offer ‘Digital Suraksha Group Insurance’ for customers who wish to cover themselves against financial losses resulting from cyber-attacks, cyber frauds, or other such malicious activities on various online platforms.
- Digital Suraksha Group Insurance will be introduced on Flipkart’s platform at less than 50 paise per day.
Note– This partnership is a step towards Flipkart’s effort to make online shopping safe and more convenient for customers who transact digitally.
About Digital Suraksha Group Insurance
Compensation
Digital Suraksha Group Insurance provides compensation for direct financial loss (up to the sum insured) that occur due to unauthorized digital financial transactions on account of stealing the identity from cyber-attacks, phishing/spoofing, and SIM-jacking.
Cover & Premium
Customers can can opt for a one-year cover of Rs. 50,000 (for a premium of Rs. 183), Rs.1,00,000 (for a premium of Rs. 312) and Rs.2,00,000 (for a premium of Rs. 561), with covers also extending up to Rs.10,00,000.
Claim
If a loss of funds is reported within 90 days of the occurrence, the claim is admissible.
Avail
The cover can be availed when purchasing certain models of mobiles, laptops etc., on flipkart.
Recent Survey
As per the recent survey conducted by NortonLifeLock, about 80% of respondents reported that they have been victim of cybercrime at some point in their lives
