Jharkhand-govt-tables-over-Rs-1-lakh-cr-budget-for-FY’23

Finance Minister of Jharkhand Shri Rameshwar Oraon presented the budget of Rs 1.01 lakh crore for the Financial Year (FY) 2022-23. The proposal of the budget is to increase the capital expenditure by 59 percent ie.Rs 24,827.70 crore.

i.The expected growth rate for the current fiscal year – 2022 is 8.8 percent.

ii.The budget aims to spend high on sectors like health and infrastructure. 

iii.The budget presented for the FY 2021-22 was Rs 91,277 crore.

Budget Spendings: Revenues and Deficit:

i.The budget spending will be met through the state’s 

  • Tax revenue of Rs 24,850-crore 
  • Non-tax revenue of Rs 13,762.84-crore
  • Central assistance of Rs 17,405.74-crore 
  • Share in central taxes of Rs 27,006.58-crore
  • Public debt of Rs 18,000-crore

ii.Revenue expenditure is expected at Rs 76,273.30 crore.  

iii.A fiscal deficit of Rs 11,286.47 crore, is estimated to be 2.81 per cent of the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of the next fiscal.

Proposals Of The Budget for the FY 2022-23:

i.The Guruji Credit Card Scheme will be launched to the Jharkhand students in higher education. 

ii.100 units of electricity per month to be given to poors and farmers households at free of cost.

iii.Rs 50,000 per house will be available for the construction of an additional room from the state fund.

iv.Rs 600 crore allotted  under the state scheme as the honorarium to assistant teachers. 

v.The government has proposed a budget of Rs 4,091.37 crore in the agriculture and allied sector. 

vi.The Finance Minister said that so far 836 crores have been transferred to the accounts of 2,11,530 farmers under the farm loan waiver scheme.

vii.Under the Go-Dhan Nyay Yojana, cow dung will be procured at reasonable prices to increase the income of cattle owners and farmers. This will also be used to produce biogas as well as organic manure. 

viii.A corpus of Rs 25 crore has been proposed in the fund to compensate for the economic losses in agricultural production.

ix.The budget proposed creation of 12.5 crore man-days in the next fiscal under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).
