On November 15 2024, Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Ministry of Labour & Employment (MoL&E), inaugurated an event to mark the 72nd Foundation Day of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi, Delhi .
- The event was attended by key officials, including Ms. Sumita Dawra, Secretary, MoL&E; Ramesh Krishnamurthi, Central Provident Fund Commissioner (CPFC); and Ashok Kumar Singh, Director General (DG) of Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), among others.
- During the event, the Bhavishya Nidhi Awards 2024 were also presented by Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya to recognize exceptional contributions across various categories.

The event was attended by over 700 guests, including EPFO employees, Ministry officials, representatives from banks and multilateral institutions. An additional 8,000 EPFO staff joined virtually from across India.

i.EPFO’s transformative role in managing savings and enhancing social security was highlighted during the event.
ii.Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya highlighted EPFO’s transformative journey as a cornerstone of social security in India. He emphasized the need to enhance service delivery, strengthen IT (Information Technology) system, grievance management, and a member-centric service model.
iii.The number of contributing establishments exceeded 7.8 lakh, with over 7.6 crore members.
iv.Technological reforms, including IT database centralization and an updated electronic challan, aim to enhance EPFO’s services.

On 17th September 2024, the Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Ministry of Labour & Employment (MoL&E) announced that now subscribers of the Employees ‘Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) can withdraw up to Rs 1 lakh from their Provident Fund (PF) accounts for personal financial needs, an increase from the current limit of Rs 50,000.
