1 – Aquiline – गरूड़ के समान
Meaning – (of a person’s nose) hooked or curved like an eagle’s beak.
Usage – “he had an aquiline nose”
Synonyms – hooked, curved, hook-shaped, hook-like, bent, bowed, angular; technicalfalcate, falciform.
2 – Besotted – फ़िदा
Meaning – strongly infatuated.
Usage – “he became besotted with a local barmaid”
Synonyms – infatuated with, smitten with, in love with, love-struck by, head over heels in love with, hopelessly in love with, obsessed with, passionate about, consumed with desire for, devoted to, doting on, greatly enamoured of, very attracted to, very taken with, charmed by, captivated by, enchanted by, enthralled by, bewitched by, beguiled by, under someone’s spell.
3. – Credulous – विश्रंभी
Meaning – having or showing too great a readiness to believe things.
Usage – “a ceremony staged for credulous tourists”
Synonyms –gullible, naive, impressionable, trusting, over-trusting, over-trustful, exploitable, dupable, deceivable, easily deceived, easily taken in
Antonyms -skeptical, suspecting, suspicious, untrusting
4. – Lament – विलाप
Meaning – a passionate expression of grief or sorrow.
Usage – “his mother’s night-long laments for his father”
Synonyms –wail, wailing, lamentation, moan, moaning, groan, weeping, crying, sob, sobbing, keening, howl, complaint
Antonyms -celebrate, compliment, laud, praise
5. Promulgate – एलान करना
Meaning – promote or make widely known (an idea or cause).
Usage – “these objectives have to be promulgated within the organization”
Synonyms – make known, make public, publicize, spread, communicate, propagate, disseminate, circulate, broadcast, promote, announce, proclaim.
6. Perquisite – रिआयत
Meaning – a benefit which one enjoys or is entitled to on account of one’s job or position.
Usage – “the wife of a president has all the perquisites of stardom”
7. Rendition – प्रतिपादन
Meaning – a performance or interpretation, especially of a dramatic role or piece of music.
Usage – “a wonderful rendition of ‘Nessun Dorma’”
Synonyms – performance, rendering, interpretation, presentation, execution, delivery; playing, singing, reading, recitation, recital.
8. Rabid – विक्षिप्त
Meaning – having or proceeding from an extreme or fanatical support of or belief in something.
Usage – “a rabid feminist”
Synonyms – extreme, fanatical, overzealous, over-enthusiastic, extremist, violent, maniacal, wild, passionate, fervent, diehard, uncompromising; intolerant, unreasonable, illiberal, bigoted, prejudiced, biased, partisan.
9. Rumpus – कलह
Meaning – a noisy disturbance; a row.
Usage – “he caused a rumpus with his flair for troublemaking”
Synonyms – disturbance, commotion, uproar, confusion, furore, brouhaha, hue and cry, ruckus, fuss, fracas, melee, tumult, riot, brawl, free-for-all, scuffle, struggle, altercation, quarrel; noise, racket, din, outcry; donnybrook.
10. – Nullify – अमान्य घोषित करना
Meaning – make legally null and void; invalidate.
Usage – “judges were unwilling to nullify government decisions”
Synonyms – annul, declare null and void, render null and void, void, invalidate, render invalid; repeal, reverse, rescind, revoke, set aside, cancel, abolish, undo, abrogate; countermand, veto, dissolve, cast aside, do away with, bring to an end, terminate, quash, obliterate; vacate; archaicrecall; raredisannul.
