1. Lacuna – कमी
Meaning – an unfilled space; a gap.
Usage – the journal has filled a lacuna in Middle Eastern studies.
2. Pittance – देन
Meaning – a very small or inadequate amount of money.
Synonyms – a very small amount, a tiny amount, an insufficient amount, next to nothing, very little; informalpeanuts, chicken feed, slave wages, a shoestring; informalchump change.
Usage – the musicians were paid a pittance.
3. Astound – हक्का बक्का
Meaning – shock or greatly surprise.
Synonyms – amaze, astonish, stagger, surprise, startle, stun, confound, dumbfound, stupefy, daze, nonplus; throw, shake, unnerve, disconcert, discompose, bewilder; take someone’s breath away, take by surprise, take aback, shake up, stop someone in their tracks, strike dumb, leave open-mouthed, leave aghast, catch off balance; informalflabbergast, floor, knock for six, knock someone sideways, knock out, knock the stuffing out of, bowl over, blow someone’s mind, blow away.

4. Vaticinate – भविष्यवाणी करना
Meaning – foretell the future.
Usage – he vaticinated a period of peace for the continent.
5. Immure – क़ैद करना
Meaning – enclose or confine (someone) against their will.
Synonyms – confine, intern, shut up, lock up, incarcerate, imprison, jail, put away, put behind bars, put under lock and key, hold captive, hold prisoner; coop up, mew up, fence in, wall in, close in; detain, keep, hold, trap.
Usage – her brother was immured in a lunatic asylum.
6. Motley – पंचमेल
Meaning – incongruously varied in appearance or character; disparate.
Synonyms – miscellaneous, disparate, diverse, assorted, sundry, varied, mixed, diversified, heterogeneous.
Usage – a motley crew of discontents and zealots.
7. Torment – यातना
Meaning – severe physical or mental suffering.
Synonyms – agony, suffering, torture, pain, anguish, misery, distress, affliction, trauma, wretchedness, woe; hell, purgatory.
Usage – their deaths have left both families in torment.
8. Spurious – जाली
Meaning – not being what it purports to be; false or fake.
Synonyms – bogus, fake, not genuine, specious, false, factitious, counterfeit, fraudulent, trumped-up, sham, mock, feigned, pretended, contrived, fabricated, manufactured, fictitious, make-believe, invalid, fallacious, meretricious; artificial, imitation, simulated.
Usage – separating authentic and spurious claims.
9. Suffrage – मताधिकार
Meaning – the right to vote in political elections.
Synonyms – franchise, right to vote, voting rights, the vote, enfranchisement, ballot; voice, say, option, choice.
Usage – the congress is elected for five years by universal adult suffrage.
10. Perplex – विकल
Meaning – make (someone) feel completely baffled.
