1. Harangue – वर्णन

Meaning – a lengthy and aggressive speech.

Synonyms – tirade, lecture, diatribe, homily, polemic, rant, fulmination, broadside, verbal attack, verbal onslaught, invective; criticism, berating, censure, admonition, reproval, admonishment; exhortation, declamation, oration, peroration, speech, talk, address; informalsermon, tongue-lashing, spiel, pep talk; rarephilippic, obloquy.

Usage – they were subjected to a ten-minute harangue by two border guards.

2. Upright – सीधा

Meaning – (of a person) sitting or standing with the back straight.

Usage – an upright posture.

3. Beguile – जी बहला

Meaning – charm or enchant (someone), often in a deceptive way.

Synonyms – charm, attract, enchant, entrance, win over, woo, captivate, bewitch, spellbind, dazzle, blind, hypnotize, mesmerize, seduce, tempt, lead on, lure, entice, ensnare, entrap; deceive, mislead, take in, trick, inveigle, dupe, fool, double-cross, hoodwink, take advantage of; informaltickle someone’s fancy, float someone’s boat, butter up, sweet-talk, soft-soap, bamboozle, con, diddle, shaft, pull a fast one on, put one over on, take for a ride, string along, lead up the garden path.

Usage – he beguiled the voters with his good looks.

4. Humbug – कपट

Meaning – deceptive or false talk or behaviour.

Synonyms – hypocrisy, hypocritical talk/behaviour, sanctimoniousness, posturing, cant, empty talk; insincerity, dishonesty, falseness, falsity, sham, deceit, deception, deceptiveness, imposture, pretence; fraud, trickery, cheating; informalphoneyness, con, kidology; informalcodology.

Usage – to dress it all up as a ‘green’ tax is sheer humbug.

5. Smattering – गिरोह

Meaning – a small amount of something.

Synonyms – bit, small amount, little, modicum, touch, soupçon; superficial knowledge, nodding acquaintance, passing acquaintance, rudiments, elements, basics; informalsmidgen, smidge, tad.

Usage – an audience with a smattering of classical education.

6. Desolate – उजड़ा हुआ

Meaning – (of a place) uninhabited and giving an impression of bleak emptiness.

Synonyms – barren, bleak, stark, bare, dismal, grim; desert, waste, arid, sterile; wild, windswept, inhospitable, exposed.

Usage – the loch was bounded by desolate moorlands.

7. Sparse – अपर्याप्त

Meaning – thinly dispersed or scattered.

Synonyms – scanty, scant, scattered, thinly distributed, scarce, infrequent, sporadic, few and far between; meagre, paltry, skimpy, limited, in short supply, at a premium, hard to come by; slight, thin.

Usage – areas of sparse population.

8. Cozen – मूंड़ना

Meaning – trick or deceive.

Usage –do not think to cozen your contemporaries.

9. Innocuous – अहानिकर

Meaning – not harmful or offensive.

Synonyms – harmless, safe, non-dangerous, non-poisonous, non-toxic, non-irritant, non-injurious, innocent; edible, eatable, wholesome; rareinnoxious.

Usage – it was an innocuous question.

10. Rampage – हिसात्मक आचरण

Meaning – (especially of a large group of people) move through a place in a violent and uncontrollable manner.

Synonyms – rush wildly/madly, riot, run riot, go on the rampage, run amok, go berserk, storm, charge, tear; rave; informalsteam.

Usage – several thousand demonstrators rampaged through the city.
