1. Diminution – कमी

Meaning – a reduction in the size, extent, or importance of something.

Synonyms – curtailment, curtailing, cutting back, cutback, cut, attenuation, reduction, lessening, lowering, decrease, contraction, constriction, restriction, limitation, limiting, curbing; weakening, undermining, sapping.

Usage – any diminution of freedom reduces the quality of life.

2. Evocative – विचारोत्तेजक

Meaning – bringing strong images, memories, or feelings to mind.

Synonyms – reminiscent, suggestive, redolent; resonant with; expressive, vivid, graphic, powerful, haunting, moving, poignant.

Usage – dark interiors are highly evocative of past centuries.

3. Obscure – अस्पष्ट

Meaning – not discovered or known about; uncertain.

Synonyms – unclear, uncertain, unknown, in doubt, doubtful, dubious, mysterious, hazy, vague, indeterminate, concealed, hidden.

Usage – he was born about 1650 though his origins and parentage remain obscure.

4. Refrain – बचना

Meaning – stop oneself from doing something.

Synonyms – abstain, desist, hold back, stop oneself, withhold; forbear, forgo, do without, dispense with, resist the temptation to, avoid, steer clear of, give a wide berth to, have nothing to do with, fight shy of, eschew, shun, renounce.

Usage – he appealed to the protestors to refrain from violence.

5. Lodging – अस्थायी आवास

Meaning – temporary accommodation.

Usage – a fee for board and lodging.

6. Render – प्रस्तुत करना

Meaning – provide or give (a service, help, etc.).

Synonyms – give, provide, supply, furnish, make available, contribute; offer, extend, proffer

Usage – money serves as a reward for services rendered.

7. Impart – देना

Meaning – make (information) known.

Synonyms – communicate, pass on, convey, transmit, relay, relate, recount, set forth, present, tell, make known, make public, go public with, report, announce, proclaim, spread, disseminate, circulate, promulgate, broadcast; disclose.

Usage – she had news that she couldn’t wait to impart.

8. Imposes – थोपना

Meaning – force (an unwelcome decision or ruling) on someone.

Synonyms – foist, force, thrust, inflict, obtrude, press, urge.

Usage – he imposed his ideas on the art director.

9. Scorched – सूखा हुआ

Meaning – burn the surface of (something) with flame or heat.

Synonyms – burn, sear, singe, char, blacken, discolour; raretorrefy.

Usage – surrounding houses were scorched by heat from the blast.

10. Fastidious – दुराराध्य

Meaning – very attentive to and concerned about accuracy and detail.

Synonyms – scrupulous, punctilious, painstaking, meticulous, assiduous, sedulous, perfectionist, fussy, finicky, dainty, over-particular; critical, overcritical, hypercritical, hard/difficult/impossible to please; pedantic, precise, exact, hair-splitting, exacting.
