On October 12, 2020 Edappadi K. Palaniswami, Chief Minister(CM) of TamilNadu signed 14 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 10,055 crore in investments, that is expected to generate employment opportunities for about 7,000 people.
Of these 14 MoUs, 10 were exchanged physically and the remaining 4 were exchanged online.
Highlights
i.JSW Renew Energy Ltd to establish a 810 MW(Megawatts) in Thoothukudi, Tenkasi, Thirunelveli and Thiruppur, with an investment of Rs 6,300 crore.It also plans to set up a 50 MW captive wind energy project in Rameshwaram district. The project will create employment to over 2,420 persons.
ii.Mantra Data Center (Spain) to invest Rs 750 crore (550 jobs) to set up a data centre project near Chennai.Â
iii.Hong Kong based Aosheng Hitech Ltd to invest Rs 200 crore (250 jobs) to manufacture carbon fiber plates.
iv.Vans Chemistry, Singapore to invest Rs 50 crore(750 jobs) to establish an e-waste management facility for dismantling and recycling, and a precious metals refining project
v.Greenbase Industrial Parks, part of the Hiranandani Group to establish an Industrial Logistics Park in Oragadam, Kancheepuram district, with an investment of Rs 750 crore. This project will create employment opportunities for about 500 persons.

The state during the year 2020(till september) has signed nearly 42 MoUs worth nearly Rs 31,464.
