ii.EoTT is equipped with Global Positioning System (GPS) to indicate location of the train & Global System for Mobile (GSM) communication module transfer between HoT & EoT.
Other functions of EoTT:
i.Display Brake Pipe (BP) pressure of the last vehicle of the train to LP.
ii.To apply emergency brakes from the last vehicle of the Train remotely by LP.
iii.To broadcast location of EoT devices to other trains equipped with EoTT in case of emergencies like Train Parting, derailment.
iv.For indicating passage of a complete train over a particular location.
v.EoTT can also assist the LP in case of parting by bringing the rear portion to an early halt.
Procurement:
i.The procurement of EoTT is expected to cost around INR 100 Crore, at present 10 devices are being procured from United States of America & South Africa for trial purposes.
