DSEU-joins-hands-with-UNICEF-to-help-students-find-jobs

Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) Partnered with YuWaah (Generation Unlimited/ GenU) at United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to enable access to employment opportunities for students of the DSEU.

  • This pilot project will start from 20th July 2022 at Ambedkar DSEU Shakarpur – I campus, New Delhi.
  • This involves around 1,000 active job seekers between the age group of 18 and 29 years, with special focus on candidates from marginalised communities and women candidates.

Key Highlights:

i.The Career Awareness Sessions have been established by both the partners for students at DSEU for creating awareness among students on job portals, to enhance accessibility towards best suited jobs.

  • The sessions are facilitated by YuWaah along with other job portal partners such as National Career Service portal by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Apna, Teamlease and QJobs by Quess Corp.

ii.Along with this, another 6-month pilot project YuWaah Step Up – Bano job ready, being conducted by Flywheel Digital Solutions Pvt with DSEU students that would support in enhancing the partnership.

Note – DSEU has already introduced courses such as Face the World which includes digital skills, communication skills, financial literacy, etc. for creating employment readiness.

About YuWaah (Generation Unlimited/GenU):

YuWaah (Generation Unlimited/GenU) is a UNICEF-initiated and a collaborative effort of YuWaah, UNICEF, Capgemini and United Nations Global Compact Network India (UNGCNI) which enables access to learning and opens up job opportunities for youth.

Delhi LG Launches New Scheme for RWAs : Sah Bhagita

On 11th June 2022 Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena launched Sah-Bhagita, an incentive scheme for involving Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) in optimal tax collection and waste management ecosystem.

  • Under Sah-Bhagita, the RWAs will receive 15 percent of the total collection of property tax for development works in their areas.

Key Highlights:

i.The incentives will be given to RWAs on achieving 90 percent tax collection from the total number of properties in their societies.

  • This allows in recommendation towards the developmental work on 10 percent of the collected tax amount subject to a ceiling of Rs. 1 Lakh.
  • Additionally, 5 percent of the tax collected will be provided, only if the area is implemented with 100 percent waste management at source along with composting, recycling dry waste.

ii.The remaining is handed over to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), which services 94 percent of Delhi.

Delhi Govt Launches Chatbot to Answer Queries on E-Vehicles

The Delhi government has collaborated with whatsapp to launch whatsapp chatbot for customer management on queries regarding Electric Vehicles (e-vehicles).

Key Highlights:

i.The whatsapp chatbot is user-friendly with customer preferred language that answers a range of queries from procurement of e-vehicles to price range and incentives.

  • It also shows the locations of e-vehicle charging stations around Delhi.

ii.The user can use 98103 36008 , whatsapp chatbot number that lists 5 options after the language is preferred by the customers, such as Potential savings while switching to EV (EV Calculator), Find the right EV for yourself (EV Search), Charging Stations, EV Pledge, and Frequently asked questions.

Note – The Delhi government introduced its electric vehicle policy in August 2020.
